Struggling to manage menopause symptoms, alongside complex caring responsibilities and a recent diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis – Esme contacted vulnerable customer management specialist MorganAsh. Through regular support calls, practical guidance, and referrals, MorganAsh helped her manage a difficult period and remain in work..
Esme, a professional woman in her mid-50s, contacted MorganAsh for help. MorganAsh is a vulnerable customer management specialist which has been helping vulnerable people for over twenty years.
Esme was experiencing significant challenges resulting from menopause. Alongside physical symptoms such as joint pain and night sweats, she was also dealing with psychological symptoms – such as anxiety and brain fog – which were beginning to affect her daily wellbeing.
At the same time, she was managing several complex personal circumstances. These included caring responsibilities for an elderly parent, approaching the anniversary of her mother’s death, and adjusting to a recent diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. The combination of physical health issues and emotional pressures created a difficult period both personally and professionally.
The challenge
Esme wanted to continue working, as maintaining her role was very important to her sense of identity and stability. However, the cumulative pressures of her condition and situation were making it increasingly difficult to cope.
She needed a supportive space to talk through her experiences, as well as practical guidance to help her manage symptoms and navigate the various sources of support available.
The MorganAsh Peace of Mind Approach
Through its Peace of Mind service, MorganAsh provided structured, compassionate support tailored to Esme’s needs.
This included:
Weekly phone support sessions, offering a confidential space to talk openly about challenges and explore coping strategies.
Information and guidance on managing menopause-related symptoms and anxiety.
Support in preparing for medical appointments, helping Esme feel more confident in discussing her situation with MorganAsh’s nurse and other healthcare professionals.
Referrals to additional services, including counselling and physiotherapy.
Signposting to specialist organisations, including the Alzheimer’s Society, to provide practical support related to her caring responsibilities.
The outcome
The regular contact and personalised support helped Esme feel both heard and understood during a particularly challenging time. Having a safe space to talk allowed her to process her experiences, explore options, and develop strategies to manage both her physical symptoms and emotional wellbeing.
Importantly, the personalised support helped her to stay in work – something she described as very important to her. She noted that the regular calls gave her an opportunity to “vent” and reflect, which made a significant difference to how she was coping day to day.
Impact
This case highlights how MorganAsh’s Peace of Mind service can provide holistic support during complex life transitions, helping individuals manage health challenges, personal responsibilities, and work commitments simultaneously.
By combining emotional support, practical guidance, and access to wider resources, the service helps individuals maintain resilience and stability during difficult periods.
