Independent, confidential research – to help us better manage pensions for both you and your old colleagues.

We’ve been asked by your pension trustees to undertake a confidential research programme on their behalf.

We’ve been asked by your pension trustees to undertake a confidential research programme on their behalf.

Over time, things change – so your trustees want to be sure of their pensions’ security, and reduce any risks, based on their customers’ circumstances today. The best way to do this is simple: ask a few questions.

We value your input – and your time

We don’t need much of your time, but we do appreciate you giving it.

How we undertake the research

MorganAsh undertakes the research independently. We will send you a letter with a medical questionnaire.  Please complete the medical questionnaire and return to MorganAsh. For some scheme members we will follow this up with a medical interview over the phone. Your answers are confidential; they just help us to build up a more complete picture of our clients.

Why this research is taking place

You and your colleagues’ pensions were set up a long time ago. Having up-to-date information about health and lifestyle will helps your trustees to better manage your pension – not just for you, but also for all of your colleagues in the scheme.

What happens next

You should have received a letter, asking you to complete a short questionnaire. In most cases this is enough, but if MorganAsh requires any further medical information, then they will phone you to arrange an interview over the phone.

Our service is entirely staffed by experienced nurses

Why do we need your help?

We are all living much longer. This is a major challenge for those running pension schemes, who need to plan for the future as accurately as possible. Clearly, if you live longer, more money is required to pay your pension. However, since it is very difficult to predict how long someone might live, this makes planning uncertain. Gathering more information about people today enables organisations to plan far better. It’s a real help.

Are other schemes doing this?

Yes, most schemes are exposed to these same risks, so gathering information in this way helps pension schemes to better understand and manage any risks.

Will this affect my pension?

Not at all. Whether you take part or not will have no effect on the pension that you receive, nor change the obligations of the scheme to you (or your dependant) in any way. The scheme will still be responsible for paying your pension, and any dependant’s pension, and will continue to do so.

How will I take part?

You should have received a short questionnaire from MorganAsh, the company which is acting on our behalf. You will need to complete this and return it to MorganAsh.

MorganAsh may also contact you to conduct a telephone interview to ask a few questions about your health and lifestyle. The telephone interview should take no longer than 20 minutes.

Is my interview recorded?

Yes, the interview will be recorded for quality purposes.
