We’ve been asked by your pension trustees to undertake a confidential research programme on their behalf.
Over time, things change – so your trustees want to be sure of their pensions’ security, and reduce any risks, based on their customers’ circumstances today. The best way to do this is simple: ask a few questions.
We value your input – and your time
We don’t need much of your time, but we do appreciate you giving it.
How we undertake the research
MorganAsh undertakes the research independently. We will send you a letter with a medical questionnaire. Please complete the medical questionnaire and return to MorganAsh. For some scheme members we will follow this up with a medical interview over the phone. Your answers are confidential; they just help us to build up a more complete picture of our clients.
Why this research is taking place
You and your colleagues’ pensions were set up a long time ago. Having up-to-date information about health and lifestyle will helps your trustees to better manage your pension – not just for you, but also for all of your colleagues in the scheme.
What happens next
You should have received a letter, asking you to complete a short questionnaire. In most cases this is enough, but if MorganAsh requires any further medical information, then they will phone you to arrange an interview over the phone.
Why do we need your help?
We are all living much longer. This is a major challenge for those running pension schemes, who need to plan for the future as accurately as possible. Clearly, if you live longer, more money is required to pay your pension. However, since it is very difficult to predict how long someone might live, this makes planning uncertain. Gathering more information about people today enables organisations to plan far better. It’s a real help.
Are other schemes doing this?
Yes, most schemes are exposed to these same risks, so gathering information in this way helps pension schemes to better understand and manage any risks.
Will this affect my pension?
Not at all. Whether you take part or not will have no effect on the pension that you receive, nor change the obligations of the scheme to you (or your dependant) in any way. The scheme will still be responsible for paying your pension, and any dependant’s pension, and will continue to do so.
How will I take part?
You should have received a short questionnaire from MorganAsh, the company which is acting on our behalf. You will need to complete this and return it to MorganAsh.
MorganAsh may also contact you to conduct a telephone interview to ask a few questions about your health and lifestyle. The telephone interview should take no longer than 20 minutes.
Is my interview recorded?
Yes, the interview will be recorded for quality purposes.
Who is MorganAsh?
MorganAsh is a leading medical information assessor for major insurance companies. All interviews are undertaken by a UK-based, qualified nurse with a minimum of three years’ nursing experience.
How do you ensure confidentiality?
MorganAsh guarantees confidentiality. It upholds strict confidentiality guidelines between interviewers and interviewees. All interviewers sign confidentiality agreements as part of their employment. If the interviewer thinks they know you then they will arrange for another interviewer to contact you. MorganAsh is certified to ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus, the standards for IT security. The video below gives you more information on privacy and security.
What information will be needed and how will it be used?
Completing the reply form enclosed with our letter confirms that you are willing to participate in the research. This means that you will be giving MorganAsh permission to contact you, if required, to undertake the telephone interview. They will contact you in advance to arrange a convenient interview time.
If you lose your forms
You can call MorganAsh on 0330 159 8162 or e-mail email@example.com and we will send you replacement copies.
Others have received information – but you have not
Most schemes only collect information on a selection of scheme members. If you think you should be included in this project, but have not received anything in the post, then please e-mail MorganAsh at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 0330 159 8162.
If your address or other details have changed
If any of your contact details have changed or are incorrect, please update these on the form before you return it in the reply envelope.
