Purchase Life Insurance

While buying Life Insurance may not be the most fun activity, it is worth getting it right, thus giving you peace of mind with the right cover.

  1. We specialise in more complex health cases and employ medical professionals and underwriters to assess your health correctly
  2. We won't pester you and push you into a decision
  3. We take the time to get it right, to give you peace of mind, after all the policy will last you for years

Because our application process is thorough, we ensure that you or your family will get paid out in the unfortunate event of a claim.

We have been working for over 10 years, and honest clients who have made a claim have all received a payment.  We have never had a case referred to the FOS (Financial Ombudsman Service).

We manage and administer the sales of Life Insurance with many partners, so you may come through to us after being referred from one of our many partners.

For financial advice you should consult your Financial Adviser, or we can put you in touch with a Financial Adviser in your area who uses our services.

We cannot give you advice on what insurance to purchase or how much cover you need. We cannot provide you with a personal recommendation. You must therefore ensure that you understand the policy and it is your responsibility to ensure that the policy meets your demands and needs.

Medical assessments

Many financial products are dependent on your health.  It is important that the insurance company has a good understanding of your health before you enter into a contract, or when claiming on a contract. Although a little arduous, it is in your best interests to undertake this task with all due care.  All our interviews are recorded, and the recordings are held securely in accordance with the data protection Legislation.

All the questions should be answered fully and honestly as failure to do so could invalidate your policy.

For Retirement income options and annuities

The worse health you are in the higher your annuity offer will be so don't hold back in giving this health information.  There are over 1,800 conditions that can affect your annuity offer so please give all the detail to the nurse.

For Life, Critical Illness and Income Protection Insurance

The interview forms an integral part of your contract. If you give incorrect information this may invalidate your pay out at the time of any claim.

Note: - the information lasts for the length of the policy and you only need to undertake the medical assessment once at the application stage.

For Critical Illness and Income Protection Claims

Insurance companies are happy to pay out for valid claims, but unfortunately some people try and trick insurance companies, so they do need to check the validity of the claim.  The sooner we can get the relevant information the more quickly this process can be completed.

For Pension evaluations

Most pension schemes are contracted to pay out for the duration of members' lives so the better they can understand the members' health and their likely longevity the better they can manage the pension scheme itself.

Booking and re-booking appointments

If you need to book an interview or re-book an interview, you can do so by either emailing us at

customerservices@morganash.com

The interviews are booked in 1 hour time slots, so for example, if booked for 4pm, you should expect a call anytime between 4 and 5pm. The duration of the interviews does vary greatly and you should allow at least 20 - 30  minutes.

Please provide as many phone numbers as possible. If you provide a mobile phone number we can send you text messages to remind you of your interview.

The nurses are able to undertake interviews during the following times:

  • 9 am to 9 pm Monday to  Friday
  • 10 am to 2pm on Saturday.

Excluding bank holidays.

Preparing for your medical assessment

We will arrange for one of our specialist nurses to telephone you and interview you about your health over the phone.

The Telephone medical interview

If you have call barring on your phone, please arrange for this to be removed to allow us to call you.

It is important that you are able to speak freely and have the time to spare to complete the interview. The interview is better undertaken on a landline but if you prefer to use a mobile we can accommodate this. We will not complete an interview if you are driving.

The interview is recorded. All the questions should be answered fully and honestly. If you are not sure whether something is important then it is best to mention it. The nurse will assist you with any questions you may have.

What do I need to prepare?

To prepare for your interview, please take some time to gather the following information and have this to hand when MorganAsh call:

  • Any medication you are currently taking (including the name and dosage).
  • Any past or present medical condition suffered, (other than very minor ailments such as the common cold.)
  • Any tests or investigations, e.g. blood pressure, cholesterol tests.  It would be helpful if you phone your GP or whoever did these tests, to get the results.
  • Details of any serious conditions, such as cancer, heart attack, stroke, suffered by a member of your immediate family (your mother, father, brothers and sisters, or half brothers and sisters.)
  • We will ask for your height and weight. If you do not know your weight please try and weigh yourself prior to the interview.

What happens after the medical assessment

What happens after your medical assessment varies depending on the product and the insurance company.

If you remember something else after the phone call then don't hesitate to call us or email us on customerservices@morganash.com

You may be sent a copy of the questions and your answers for you to check, ensuring that the information is complete and accurate, and this may need to be signed and returned.  However, many insurance companies do not require this.

Our Nurses

We are unique in employing professional nurses to undertake comprehensive medical assessments. They are all Registered Nurses with many gaining extended qualifications in the following specialist areas -:

Your data security

Please accept our assurances that the information you provide will be treated in the strictest confidence
